I have already posted article on roaming free India. Roaming will be free in India in next three months. Communication Department has setting dates to avoid the roaming charges. Along with free roaming all India number portability also will be available for user in all region. All user will enjoy free incoming calls and outgoing calls after free roaming will be applicable. Last May 2012 the free roaming gets a green signal but the communication department was not able to avail this to user due to some reasons. When this was published the communication department was specified any dates to apply this.Mobile operators are against to roaming free rules, due to that they will loss their revenue on roaming incoming and outgoing calls. Currently users are paying 1 Rs. for incoming calls, 1.5 Rs. for outgoing calls for one minute. Users also pay 1.5 Rs. for SMS while on roaming. Before applying this rule DoT (Department of Telecommunication) have to follow at all India level Pan-India Unified Licening.
After this rule users will get intra circle number portability. Currently user only get number portability facility in their own circle. If anyone has number from Delhi he cannot use the number in any other state with number portability facility, but after this rule he can able to take any service provider in any other circle.
